Force factory reset of Oura ring (second hand)

If your ring won't connect to the app because you received a second hand ring that was not factory reset you can still force a factory reset via those special steps.

Step 1: Perform Flips to Factory Reset

Take your ring off the charger if it is already placed on it. Then do the following:

(a) Place your ring on the Gen3 charger

[Wait ~two seconds] (Not longer)

(b) Flip the charger with the ring on it 180° upside up (bottom down)
Wait until the charger's LED turns red

(c) Flip the charger with the ring placed on it 180° upside down (bottom-up)
Wait until the charger's LED turns magenta (Purple)

(d) Flip the charger with the ring on it 180° upside up (bottom down)
Wait until the charger's LED turns yellow

When the charger's LED turns yellow, the factory reset process has started!

Wait for a few minutes until the charger's LED starts blinking blue. This indicates that the ring has been factory reset successfully!

Step 2: Forget the Oura Ring from the Bluetooth settings

Open your phone's Settings
Go to Bluetooth Settings
Locate your Oura Ring ("oura_A038xxx") on the list of connected devices
Tap the info icon (i) or the settings icon located in front of your Oura Ring's name on the list
Tap "Unpair" or "Forget" this Device

Step 3: Reconnect your Oura Ring

Open the Oura App
Tap the top right corner to open the "My Oura Ring" screen.
Swipe the screen from the right to the left
Scroll down
Select "Set up a new ring"
Follow the instructions on the Oura App to reconnect your Oura Ring
